DeFranko's is the kind of place that could take the "now hiring" sign down before the interview, because they got this job in the BAG!
The place is small, like if you show up with six people and the place is empty, one of you is standing. Can charm make up for an absence of furniture? In this case I say yes. The owner was there and was very helpful.
I had a small pastrami sandwich and when I saw the size of it I thought maybe she didn't hear me and gave me the large. No, the small is generously large and packed with some of the most tender pastrami this side of Tam O' Shanter. Topped with pickles, onion, tomatoes and oregano and stuffed into a soft sesame seed roll, this is truly beautiful and filling! Prices are on the lower side of what you might expect for the quantity or the quality.
