I was having a terrible day as I'd gone to the office and left my bank card and cash at home. As the clock struck noon my stomach announce what a shitty diddy I was for not feeding it. My pal Taylor and I are driving about and she tells me that she's craving a burger from Irv's. Now at this point, I'd only lived in LA for a few months and I'd never heard of the place.
We arrived and I thought that the outdoor setting having been around as long as it has, must be good. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger, fries and a drink compliments of my generous new friend. I was amazed by how friendly the old couple working there were with the patrons. You could tell that everyone there felt like a welcome guest in someone's home.
Stop! Burger time! Oh my god, this burger is delicious! Thick cut tomatoes and ample lettuce and onion. The cheese was not skimped on and the bacon was crisp. Fries were fresh and sprinkled with a bit of seasoning salt. They burned the roof of my mouth, but I didn't even care. For the money, this place is gold.
Taylor, if you're reading this, the next Irv's visit is on me.
